Patti's house was cozy and the structure was very interesting. Jinny and I used the room upstairs. There was a big room with one queen size bed and everything was ready for us to use like hotels. The best part of the room was the bed. It was big enough for us to rest. It's comfortable bed ever to sleep in.
After unpacking our stuff, we went downstairs to meet new friends, Grace and her boyfriend Nick. Nick seemed to be shy but Grace was outgoing and talkative. Students from WIU, Dongjin and Yeonwoo also came to hang out. There was a lot of cookies and pies which Patti prepared. I was so surprised how much Patti prepared for us.
When everyone gathered around, we played Yatzee. I never played it before. I thought it was tricky but after watching people playing helped me to understand easier. Even though it was first time playing Yatzee, I won. We also played Pictionary. I learned many vocabularies from the game. It was the best game to learn English.
Next day, Patti, Jinny, Yeonwoo and I went to Springfield. We were eating lunch at Olive Garden. The pasta was delicious and fresh salad was gorgeous. What I like about U.S. restaurants is that there are fresh salad in every meal. My stomach was full and I had pot belly. Unfortunately, the next schedule was swimming pool. There were no Asian people and many little kids were keep looking at us which was really cute. Maybe they had never seen Asian girls like us.
For Sunday lunch, Patti made us Korean traditional food, Kimchijjigae. It was delicious. I never had a chance to eat Korean food made by foreigner. She is good at cooking. She is much better than my mom in making Kimchijjigae.
I had wonderful memories with Patti. I am sure I will miss her. She was the best homestay mom ever. Thank you for everything Patti. I appreciated it.
